Today I am going to share my first impressions on the L'Oreal La Palette Nude 1 and 2.  I found these at my local Walmart store for $15.84 each.  As you will see in the video you can certainly purchase them from the L'Oreal website for $19.99 each.   Also in the video I mention that I went to two different Walmart stores in my area.  The first store carried both palettes and the second one was only carrying palette 1.   Below the video I will be sharing swatches of both palettes as well as comparisons to the Lorac Pro, Urban Decay Naked 2, and Urban Decay Naked 3 palettes.





Let's start with palette 1 shall we?  As you can see in the picture above there are 10 shadows that are generally warmer than palette 2.  Overall I don't think this palette is extremely unique and the shadows aren't the most pigmented.  The palette itself seems to be pretty sturdy and I really like that it is a black palette.  Also if you are a beginner, or don't tend to reach for highly pigmented shadows you will probably like this palette.  These palettes have four looks suggested on the back along with the makeup genius app where more looks are posted.


The L'Oreal website says that there are three finishes of shadows in these palettes: shimmery satin, buttery matte, and lustrous sheen.  Overall I would say that the first shadow is a cream that is mostly matte.  The second shadow swatches like a golden apricot shade and I would consider it to be one of the shimmery satin shadows.  The third shadow is a great transition shadow.  It is a matte taupe color that is similar to the taupe shadow in the Lorac Pro palette.  Shadow four is what I believe would be the lustrous sheen and it seems to be a brown gold.  Shadow five is also a matte shadow that is a warm medium brown.


Starting at the top in the above picture is shadow 1 and the last swatch is shadow 5.  You can barely see shadow 1 because it is very close to my skin color.  Shadows like shadow 1 I typically use as a shade to blend out the edges of my look.


Starting on the left of the above picture is shadow 1.  All of the shades from the L'Oreal palettes will be the top swatch.  In the first photo shadow 1 is compared to Foxy from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette (middle swatch) and Urban Decay Strange from the Naked 3 palette (bottom swatch).  Foxy is much more yellow than the shadow 1 and strange is a little more pink.  If I still had some of Cream from the Lorac Pro palette I would have compared these two because I think they would be very similar.

The second photo is shadow 2 on top which I have compared to Light Bronze from the Lorac Pro palette.  You can see that shadow 2 has a bit more orange in it so I would say it is a bit of an apricot shadow, but the finish is very similar.

Photo 3 is shadow 3 compared to Taupe from the Lorac Pro palette.  Taupe is a bit more brown but blended out they are pretty similar.

Photo 4 is shadow 4 compared to Urban Decay Chopper from the Naked 2 palette.  Shadow 4 is a bit powdery, but seemed pretty similar to Chopper, but Chopper has a bit more orange in it.

Photo 5 is shadow 5 compared to Taupe from the Lorac Pro palette (middle swatch) and Sable from the Lorac Pro palette (bottom swatch).  If you mix Taupe and Sable the result is most similar to shadow 5.


The above photo is the last five shadows in the first palette.  Shadow 6 is a matte chocolate brown.  Shadow 7 is what I would consider the shimmery satin finish and in the above photo is looks much more golden than it is.  Overall it is a brown that is very similar to shadow 6 with a golden sheen to it.  Shadow 8 is what I would consider the lustrous sheen finish that is a chocolate brown with a cooler finish to it than the previous two shadows.  Shadow 9 is my favorite in the palette and probably the most unique in the palette.  I would say it is a shimmery satin finish that in the pan is a taupey grey that has quite a bit of purple when swatched.  Finally shadow 10 is a shimmery satin shadow that seems to be a peach color and it is a powdery shadow.

Photo 1 is shadow 6 compared to Lorac Sable (middle swatch) and Lorac Espresso (bottom swatch).  Again I think if you were to mix Sable and Espresso you would have shadow 6.  Shadow 6 is deeper than Sable, but more red than Espresso.

Photo 2 is shadow 7 compared to Urban Decay Snakebite from the Naked 2 palette.  Shadow 7 is a bit more red than Snakebite, but they are very similar.

Photo 3 is shadow 8 compared to Urban Decay Mugshot from the Naked 3 palette (second swatch), Urban Decay Factory from the Naked 3 palette (third swatch), and Lorac Pewter (bottom swatch).  Overall I would say shadow 8 is most similar to Factory.

Photo 4 is shadow 9 compared to Urban Decay Verve from the Naked 2 palette (middle swatch) and Urban Decay Suspect also from the Naked 2 palette.  When swatched I would say shadow 9 looks most similar to Suspect.

Photo 5 is shadow 10 compared to Urban Decay Burnout from the Naked 3 palette (second swatch), Urban Decay Bootycall from the Naked 2 palette (third swatch),  Lorac Nude (fourth swatch),  and Lorac Champagne (bottom swatch).  I would say that the color is most similar to Champagne, but the finish is much better than Champagne.


Let's move on to palette 2!  As you can see it is much more of a cool palette, and overall I was much more excited for this palette.


Above is the first half of the second palette shadow 1 is what I would consider the lustrous sheen finish and it seems to be a peachy cream color.  Shadow two I would consider the shimmery satin finish and  it is a mid toned brown.  Shadow 3 is a matte finish that is similar to mauve from the Lorac Pro palette. Shadow 4 is a cool deep matte brown.  Shadow 5 is the lustrous sheen finish and this is a really nifty shadow!  It seems to be a deep brown that has a bit of a duo chrome blue or purple to it.

Photo 1 is shadow 1 compared to Urban Decay Burnout from the Naked 3 palette (middle swatch) and Urban Decay Dust from the Naked 3 palette (bottom swatch).  Shadow 1 seems to be a bit more peach than both of these and the finis is most similar to Burnout.
