Women Who Rock Intro | Project Pan Update | July 2023

by - July 14, 2023

Welcome to the first update for the Women Who Rock project!  I was hoping to update this project every two months, but life unfortunately got in the way.  This is really the first update I have been able to get to, and this project ends at the end of next month.  I will be updating this project through this last month over on my Instagram, and I plan on posting a finale on the blog around August 26th.

The Women Who Rock project is a Pantastic Ladies project that was created by a group of ladies in the group: (Cece (The Diva Next-door), Kim (Teacher Loves Beauty), Ruth Foley).  This project is supposed to run from August 26, 2022, to August 26, 2023.

Below are the products I have chosen with the prompt from the group and my goals for each product, along with any progress I have made since the project intro!

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 6.34g
Update 1 Weight (July 14, 2023) - 6.17g

I haven't used this palette much during this project since it keeps getting buried in the drawer, and life has gotten in the way.  I haven't been wearing much makeup since March, but I am working on getting back into the routine of doing so.

When I started this project, this shade from the ABH palette didn't have any pan showing, and I have managed to hit pan at some point.  I obviously won't be able to finish this entire bronzer by the end of August, so I am going to change my goal to get the weight down to 6 grams.

Sydney Grace is a family owned company by sisters in California.   The brand was formerly known as Feather River Body, and I have a ton of their eyeshadows.   This palette is the Autumn Reign palette, and as you can see it came broken in several shades, so I need to work on it.   The shade I have added to this project is Queen Of The North (top left, cream).

Goal met!  This was a pretty easy one to meet honestly since it is a light cream colored shadow.  I used it to set my eye primer every day and had no issues.

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 27.73g
Finish date - December 13, 2023

Goal met!  This Ulta Pink Corrector was another easy product to finish since I had already popped out the stopper before the intro to this project.  It only took about a month before I was able to call it finished.

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 17.48g
Update 1 Weight (July 14, 2023) - 16.46g

This Revlon mascara makes my lashes look quite long.   I really don't like the wand, but the mascara is great.   I have had it hanging around for a while, so I would like to finish it up.  This mascara is starting to dry up, so I am going to be calling this finished at the end of the project.

Update 1 - 13 Uses

I threw this Becca Moonstone mini highlighter into this project as an easy product to meet a goal on.   As you can see I had to repress this mini highlighter at some point since it broke when we moved.  Before the repress I had pan in it, but the goal for this project was 20 uses.   As of this update I have 13 of the 20 uses complete.

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 77.50g
Finish Date - November 17, 2023

This Clean It Zero cleanser was one of the easiest products to use up, and was one of my favorite balm cleansers.  I didn't have much product left when I started this project, and I finished it up about 10 days later.

Goal 5 Uses - Goal Met

Blushes are a tough product for me to work on, and this Disney blush is huge.   My goal for this blush was just 5 uses, and it took until two days ago to meet that goal.  This blush really isn't terribly pigmented and it is pretty hard packed, so I really need to use it more often.

Goal 30 Uses - Goal Met

This CoverGirl Clean Matte Foundation was easy to meet the goal on, and at the end of the 30 uses I have a little bit left in the bottom of the bottle, so I am going to finish that up in a future project as a gimme product.

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 62.55g
Update 1 (July 14, 2023) - 62.14g

Wet n Wild is a cruelty free brand, so I decided to work on this old Reserve Your Cabana powder.   I typically only use this powder to set my eyeshadow base, and there is no way I will be able to finish it by the end of this project.   I think I am going to make my goal to use this product to 61g.

Update 1 - 10 Uses

This Stila Kitten Lip Gloss will be an easy product to meet the goal on, I just keep procrastinating on it.  I have tons of lip products, so I keep burying this in the drawer.  I am halfway through the goal so it won't take long to complete.

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 71.12g
Update 1 (July 14, 2023) - 57.53g

I have made pretty good progress on this Garnier Moroccan Hair Oil, but life has gotten in the way. It is likely that I won't finish it up during this project, but I will have a good start for the next project that it gets put in!

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 54.53g
Finish Date - February 14, 2023

I didn't have much left in the bottle of The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum when I put it in this project so in a way it's surprising that it took so long to finish up.  I just kept forgetting about it in the cabinet, but I finished it up early in the year.

Five shadows with pan: Custard, Cinnamon, Penny, Sugar, Bisque

The Lorac Mega Pro 2 palette has pretty small and shallow pans in it so it is relatively easy to hit pan on eyeshadows quickly.  I can't remember when I finished hitting the 5 pans, but I want to say it was early in the year, and I put it away until the next time I want to have an easy palette to hit pans in.   The five shades I hit pan in were three of the cream shades that I set my eyeshadow primers with, or an all over lid shade.

This Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean cleanser was abandoned in my collection, and my goal was to just use half of the container.  I successfully used half of it, and will likely finish the entire bottle by the time this project ends.

Nine uses was easy to meet with this Real Her Do Your Squats eyeshadow palette.   I always forget about it in my collection, but it was a good palette to take on vacation with us, so I managed to get several more uses on it before I put it away.

Update 1 - 8 uses

The Juvia's Place Nubian palettes have been sitting in my collection for a long time, so I brought it into this challenge to get some more use on it.   I have used it 8 of the 10 times, so this will be easy to finish before the end of the project.

Update 1 - 3 Uses

I added this ELF Berry Sweet Balm to this project in the winter and I assumed I would meet the goal quickly since it's a more of an appropriate color for that time of year.  Since I work from home I have been using this more recently, and hopefully I can get the final uses out of the way before the end of the project.   This balm isn't very creamy and comfortable to apply, but it is light weight and I usually top it with a gloss or another balm.

This CVS Moisturizer is still hanging around in the collection, and I don't think I'll be able to meet my goal on it before the end of the project.  I don't tend to use thicker moisturizers like this in the hot summer months since my skin tends to be oily.

Goal 10 Uses - Goal Met

I hadn't used this Skin Chemists Rose Quartz Gloss before adding it to this project, so I wanted to have an excuse to focus on it for a bit.  It's supposed to be a plumping gloss, but I didn't notice any noticeable plumping effects from it but it is a nice minty gloss.

Starting Weight (November 7, 2022) - 23.84g
Finish Date - February 7, 2023

I found this Lottie London Pore Eraser Stick in another project and made it my goal to finish it in this project.  It was a relatively easy product to finish up, and move out of my collection.

This project started with 20 products, and we have finished or met goals on 11 of the 20 products!  That leaves 9 products left in this project, and we will see what I can finish by the finale at the end of August.
