Hey guys!

It's that time of the week again where we get up to speed about all the racing that is going on this weekend! I first want to apologize for not being on top of these, but I will get better I promise!

The first thing I want to do is sum up last week as quickly as I can.  If you are a follower of racing, you will know that the Chase for the Sprint Cup began last week at Chicagoland Speedway.  Essentially  "the Chase" is the final 10 races of the season where as of this year 16 drivers will compete for the championship.  Also new as of this year is the "win and get in" format.  In the previous 26 races of the season, if you won a race you were automatically placed into the running as a chase contender.  In the end there were 14 different winners in those 26 races, so that left two spots to be filled on points.  Also new for this year is the bracket format for the chase, after the first three races 4 drivers will be eliminated, then after the next 3 races there will be 4 more eliminated and so on until there are 4 drivers left when the series rolls into Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Chase Grid 2014 Photo from checkerstowreckers.com The Chicago weekend began with rain on Friday which moved the race for the Truck Series to Saturday evening after the Nationwide Series race.  The rain also caused the qualifying session for the Cup series to be canceled placing Kyle Busch on the pole for the race.  As for the Nationwide race, Kevin Harvick ended up winning the race after Kyle Busch had dominated the entire race.  In the Truck Series race later that day Kyle had his redemption.  As for Sunday, Brad Keselowski won the Chase opener automatically moving him into the next round of the bracket.   Non-Chasers were still strong during the race especially teammates Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray, so keep an eye out for those guys who are trying to cap the season off with a win.   Kentucky Speedway Photo from MRN.com So this weekend the Nationwide Series is in Kentucky with the ARCA Racing Series while the Truck Series is in New Hampshire with the Sprint Cup Series.  If you tune in quickly you will be able to catch the Zloop 150 from Kentucky on Fox Sports 1.  It is the second to last race for the series and Venturini Motorsports driver Justin Boston is on pole.  As for championship hopefuls in that series, it is down to two drivers, Mason Mitchell and Grant Enfinger.   As for the Truck Series in New Hampshire, the race will be held tomorrow at 1:00 on Fox Sports 1.  The series had their three practice sessions, rookie Erik Jones led the first, Matt Crafton led the second, and Cole Custer was the fastest in the third and final session.  Their qualifying session will be held tomorrow morning at 10:10 AM on Fox Sports 1. The Nationwide Series race will be under the lights from Kentucky and on ESPNEWS at 7:30 PM.  Their qualifying session will be held at 4:10 PM.  They had their two practice sessions earlier today where Richard Childress Racing's Brian Scott was fastest in the first session followed by Chris Buescher, Brendan Gaughan, and Ty Dillon.  As for their final practice, rookie Cale Conely was fastest followed by Trevor Bayne, and Brian Scott.   New Hampshire Motor Speedway Photo: NHMS.com The Sprint Cup Series had their first practice session from Loudon, New Hampshire, earlier today which saw last week's winner Brad Keselowski fastest.  Their next practice session will be held tomorrow morning at 9 AM.  The Sprint Cup Series had their qualifying session this afternoon which also put Brad Keselowski on pole followed by Jamie McMurray, and Kevin Harvick.  Once again watch out for those Ganassi cars this weekend as an upset.  Their race will be on ESPN Sunday at 2:00 PM.
