DIY Planner
Hello everyone!
I am sharing my DIY planner today. I know I could have just gone to the store and bought one, but I I wanted one that I would be able to keep up with everything going on, and this was about the only way to do that. Besides I have had this journal for a while so what better way to use it?
The journal is from the office section of Wal-Mart a few years ago and I never really used it, so this is perfect! Basically what I did was make a monthly calendar on the first page of the month. Keep in mind this takes a long time to do, but you can totally customize it for your life.
As you can see the tabs are made of Post-It flags. All I did there was take the flag, write the month, then take clear tape and tape it onto the page (really easy and it has held up well!) There's enough room in each square to write a brief overview.
The next thing I did was break down the month into a week by week section, this was ideal for me because I have plenty of room to write down all of the homework assignments I may receive. That was one of the things I really hated about some of the smaller planners, there wasn't enough room to write everything down (problem numbers and so on).
Another thing I love is that this journal already had a ribbon in it so it makes it easy to flip to the week!
After I went through the calendar (I only went through May 2014) there were enough pages left for me to add several other sections. I added Bills, Christmas, Blog Ideas, and Projects.
If you don't want to make your own planner, you can always purchase an Erin Condren Life Planner. These are between $50-$75, and you can customize it to your liking. I really haven't heard anything bad about them, but keep in mind your wait will be a while since it is customized to you. Or you can always run to Staples, Office Depot, or other stores and buy a planner that fits your needs.
Have y'all ever attempted a project like this? If so share your DIY planner!
