My Facial Routine
Hello again!
I have decided to start this blog up again to keep up with some of the things I use most often (perhaps even weed out the things that never get used). I'll be honest on this, it is difficult for me to keep a steady routine which is probably terrible for my face.
What spurred this post was actually a trip to the mall yesterday in which one of those little vendors attacked (not really). He wound up successfully getting me to purchase this product, but I'll get into that in a minute.
This is a quick little snap shot of the products I have in my cabinet at the moment (surprisingly not a lot). Starting on the top left, the box is the product from the mall yesterday it's called Vivo Per Lei Facial Peel and it is supposed to be natural and of minerals from the Dead Sea, let me tell you this stuff is pretty awesome. The next bottle is my Clean & Clear Essentials Deep Cleaning Toner; this stuff I try to remember to use every day (usually twice a day) at least right before I put my makeup on because I feel like I get really oily as the day goes on. Next is my Oxy Acne Medication Daily Defense Exfoliating Face Scrub, clearly I am about out of this stuff finally; totally has not been my favorite but it smells nice I just don't feel like it does anything for me.
Next is my new Olay ProX Facial Cleansing Brush. I have only used it one time but I can tell you that I like it so much more than what I have been using which was the Neutrogena Wave Sonic. The biggest benefit of the Olay version is that I can use my other face washes with it where as the Wave Sonic you have to put the pads on it (which there are only two options for). Not only that when I bought my Wave Sonic it was supposed to come with a sample pack of the pads which weren't in the box! Anyway the Olay version was $29 at Ulta Beauty but I picked it up on sale at Target for around $26.
On the next row is the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. I picked this deal up from Sally Beauty a while ago, and I try to use it every few weeks (I think it just makes me feel good having a mini spa day at home). But really a Mint Julep Masque is supposed to help minimize pores and help deal with acne. The next bottle is Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Moisturizer, probably not my favorite moisturizer I'm really just using it every now and again. The last item in this picture is Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. This stuff scared me a little when I first saw it in the store (come on it's black! Who would think to put that on their face!). But I decided to try it anyway it was around $20 at Sephora and it feels really tingly when you put it on, just overall really feels cool.
Moving on and back to the Vino Per Lei, this crap is so creepy the first time you encounter it, but hey check out this awesome packaging.
So, this stuff is a bit of a watery gel consistency, it's pretty cool . I make sure I get all my makeup off before I use it, I used a makeup removing wipe then all it takes is scoop your finger through the product. That's it a finger full no more you won't need it! Put some on your forehead, nose, chin, and both cheeks and rub it all over. Pause and let it sit for just a few seconds and start rubbing away, it will really gross you out I promise.
I put a little on my finger to show you what it does, that's dead skin that came off when I rubbed my hands together.
Basically, only use this stuff once or twice a week no more because it takes your skin off obviously. Also be sure to moisturize after. But this little jar has 1.7 ounces in it and is supposed to last an entire year, which I can see if you only use a finger full. I used this stuff last night and when I went to put on my makeup this morning my skin was still really soft and felt nice. We will see if it keeps working for me.
Like I said I bought it from a guy at the mall who cut me a deal on it (probably because it was Monday morning I don't know), but you can order it on their website for around $60 I think, or I saw it on Amazon for about $15-$20. But really even the $60 price tag is not that bad if you realize it will last a year.
Y'all have a great night!
