Too Faced Melted Kisses Holiday Set Review

by - November 04, 2014

Hey guys!

Have you been wanting to try out the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks, but don't want to drop $21 on just one color?  If so the Melted Kisses gift set is the answer for you!  The set retails for $25 at Sephora, Ulta, and the Too Faced Website.  All four of the Melted Lipsticks in this set are 0.16 ounces instead of the full sized 0.4 ounces.  Also all four shades are from the permanent line.

Above is Melted Nude which turned out to be more of a orange based nude.  Overall I don't think this shade looks great on my skin tone, so I will likely be passing it along to a friend.  This shade is very opaque and it goes on the lips smoothly.

Above is Melted Peony which is the shade I have considered purchasing on its own.  It's a dusty rose color that can be worn every day.  Again this shade is opaque and it applies smoothly.

Above is Melted Fuchsia which is a hot pink.  This shade wears for a much longer time than the lighter shades and it will leave a light stain on the lips.

The last shade in the set is Melted Berry which is my favorite.  As you can see it is a blue toned red.   I wore this shade out this past weekend and it wore beautifully; however, these shades do transfer even after they dry so be careful when you wipe your lips on a napkin.  This shade left a light stain on my lips even after I had finished eating a burger, but if you want the full impact of color you will have to reapply.

"The shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color of a liquid lipstick, all in one high-impact formula. Bold, long-wearing color glides on cleanly with the precision tip applicator, delivering rich color with staying power."
Above is the description on the Sephora website. To me these do not have the shine of a gloss and they tend to dry to a matte finish.  They are all opaque and easy to apply.  The sponge applicator on the tube makes it easy to stay in your lip line without a lot of effort.  The deeper colors do leave a light stain on the lips, but if you want the full impact of the color you will need to reapply the color.

Which color is your favorite?

  1. I had the Peony color, but as you mentioned, didn't want to start dropping $21 a pop to get some of the other colors. When I saw this gift set come out, I snatched it up right away. I also am loving the berry color!!
