Hello guys this is my first post, so I decided to post a craft I made back in the summer. Basically our front door was looking a little bare and outdated, so I started looking for something to help it out a little. After much searching on Pinterest I stumbled upon this little jewel.
Book Page Wreaths: DIY Decor
I thought that it wouldn't be too terrible, so I went to the thrift store and picked up an old paperback dictionary for a whopping dollar. Then I pulled out the Elmer's glue and an old wire hanger (you know the ones no one uses). I undid the hanger and rounded it then twisted it back together, honestly wish I would have left the hook part now and tied a nice bow over it. But hey next time right?
I took the pages and tore them in half "hamburger style" then rolled them into a cone. So sorry I don't have any pictures of this. Anyway I took the bottom of the cone and folded it around the hanger to secure it then continued doing this around the whole loop. Eventually it looked like this:
As you can see here I've already begun the second layer. I think I did 4 layers to make it look full.
Sorry for the terrible glare on this one too by the way. It was a little sunny that day. The last thing I did was add a cute little flower at the top. Basically I used this template from Martha Stewart to make the flower.
Martha Stewart Paper Roses
Honestly it didn't turn out quite right, but it still works well and adds a little something interesting to it.
Have a great day guys!
