What's New In Makeup and Beauty | November 24, 2021
Hello again, loves!
We have made it to the weekend, and I have to say that it could not have come at a better point for me! This week was so busy, and it felt like it lasted forever. As you know, I have been busy behind the scenes of this blog working on scheduling and planning several posts including the new swatch gallery!
In the new year I plan on picking up the frequency of posts once again and getting back into project panning; however, it may not start right at the first of the year. If you have any suggestions of project pans, or posts you would like to see from me leave those below!
As for this post, I am going to run through the Trendmood, and Beauty News Instagram pages and talk about the new releases I find interesting.
First up is the news from a couple weekends ago. There have been rumors of Harry Styles, yes the musician, starting a beauty brand for quite some time and it seems that the website has been updated as of last night. The official Instagram page for the brand doesn't has just started posting this afternoon; however, several update accounts have posted images from billboards around the world and several posts of the products. Overall the initial release from the Pleasing brand is fairly mundane; however, I have my eyes on the four set of nail polishes.
- Perfect Pearl - a pearlized white with a glossy finish
- Pearly Tops - clear with a subtle iridescence and a matte finish
- Inky Pearl - a pearlescent black with a deep blue radiance and a glossy finish
- Granny's Pink Pearls - a pearlescent pink with a glossy finish
The brand also seems to be launching the colors Perfect Pearl and Pearly Tops as individuals for $20 each. There will also be a couple options for skincare which I'm a bit less interested in at the moment; however, if you are the items are below with their prices!
- The pearlescent Illuminating Serum - $35
- The Pleasing Pen - $30 - one side of the pen is an eye gel and the other is a demi matte lip treatment.
The Pleasing website is open to sign up for the email list and for text alerts, and the presale has sold out for the moment, but you can sign up for information between now and November 28th to get early access to the general sale. I ordered the polish set, and the two skincare items so keep an eye out for a review of those soon!
The collection also includes three liquid liners, lashes, Super Shock shadows, loose highlighters, and eight lip lacquers. The collection is live on the Colourpop website, and can be purchased as a pack for $119. Items, prices and color descriptions are below!

Colourpop has also revealed another mega palette that will be launching November 25. The palette is called the Smoke N' Roses and contains 30 shades of rose pink shades and a few darker smoky shades. Judging by the few reviews I have seen of the palette, it is much more pink than the marketing photos are showing, so keep that in mind if you are wanting to order this palette! There will of course be a ton of other Colourpop releases for Black Friday and Cyber Monday so keep an eye on their Instagram for more information.
The next interesting collection is the Melt Cosmetics Amor y Mariposas collection for holiday 2021. The entire collection is available now on the Melt Cosmetics website in several options. If you want the entire collection you can grab it for $425 or you can grab a set of the palettes or just everything individually!
The eye palette in this collection is gorgeous with a stunning array of greens, nudes, and reds to make some really unique eye looks this holiday season. This eye palette contains 20 shades (10 eyeshadows and 10 pressed pigments) and retails for $70. This has to be the one part of the collection that I would love to snag, but I have so many eyeshadows that are untouched at the moment and I just can't bring myself to get it!

In less exciting news, R.E.M. Beauty by Ariana Grande has launched with several products that don't really interest me much. Overall the brand launched with a pretty good range of products but seeing them all side by side just doesn't excite or inspire me. The brand is named after the R.E.M. phase of sleep where supposedly your most creative, limitless, and vivid dreams occur which is interesting when you look at the products side by side. All of the colors are nudes and neutrals, or they are muted pastels which don't strike me as vivid or highly creative. I am interested to see where the brand goes from here considering the price point is pretty low and the inspiration for the brand could take it to interesting places.
The brand launched the Chapter 1 - ultraviolet collection in early November. The brand says that this collection travels through space and time to a world of cosmic illusions and futuristic lust. In my opinion the collection looks dated and a bit like something I that could be found at Claire's in the early 2000's and I'm not really into it. This can really be seen in the names of the matte liquid eyeshadow shades with names like Sup? and Txt Me it feels really dated. Items, prices and color descriptions are below for the Chapter 1 - ultraviolet collection!
Lashes - two styles - $16 each
Eyeshadow Palettes - three palettes of six pans each - $24 each
- Babydoll
- Espresso - matte rich brown
- boca Mocha - matte cinnamon brown

Eyeliner Marker - midnight black - $19
Kohl Eyeliner Pencil - three shades - $17 each
- So Mod - bright white
- Teddy Bear - rich brown
- Midnight Black - bold black
Matte Lipstick - six shades - $19 each
Lip Stain Marker - four shades - $16 each
Plumping Lip Gloss - nine shades - $17 each

Highlighters - ten shades of nude and neutral shades along with a few colored highlighters - $22 each
Overall the brand really feels like a disconnected brand. I don't know much about Ariana Grande, but I'm not sure that she had much to do with the creation of the brand and the names of the products. To me it feels like another celebrity brand that no one really asked for. The only products that interest me are the small eyeshadow palettes, specifically Midnight Snack, and the lipsticks; however, I can find all of these shades in my collection.
Too Faced has revealed the Too Femme collection which seems to be another butterfly inspired collection and it will launch in December on their website. The palette seems to be a bit too disjointed for me, but at least it doesn't contain a black eyeshadow!
The eyeshadow palette is a fourteen pan palette that contains a mix of pinks and warm toned browns with a pop of mint and turquoise. The collection also contains the Too Femme Butterfly Blush that is a large pan of pink blush that is supposedly scented in a sugared violet fragrance. The collection will also contain two Better than Sex mascaras in special packaging.

The most interesting part of the collection are the lipsticks! There are six gorgeous lipsticks in various shades of pinks, reds, and nudes in a brand new formula. The new formula are designed to give you the hydration of a lip balm from the ultra moisturizing heart shaped center with the color of a lipstick. These lipsticks claim to have a strawberry scent and I would imagine they are going to be more on the sheer side.
What new releases do you have your eye on this week?
All the love,
